The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Illustrated by Inga Moore
Who doesn't love Frances Hodgson Burnett's books? "The Secret Garden" has always been my personal favorite and I still dream of having a secret garden of my own.
It just so happens that when I first had the idea of collecting beautiful books for our family we had just started to read "The Secret Garden" together, and so that's where my research began.
It didn't take long before I found the perfect edition, one that exceeded all of my expectations!
There are several illustrated editions of "The Secret Garden," but when I saw Inga Moore's illustrations I knew that my search was over! They made me swoon over my computer screen and when my book arrived it was even dreamier than I'd hoped.
My heart may have skipped a beat when I opened the cover.
I always like to see what's hiding under the dust jacket...
Perfection!
Inga Moore filled the pages with so many gorgeous illustrations that it's hard to believe that this book also includes the original, unabridged text.
The hardback cover and oversized details make it especially nice for reading as a family.
Even the back cover is lovely.
This is the perfect edition for family read-aloud and we are having so much fun reading it and pouring over the illustrations together!
